Mujhe tumse pyaar hai. Bas itna hi, aur itna hi kaafi hai.
Main tumse pyaar karta hoon. Aaj bhi, kal bhi, hamesha.
Main tumse pyaar karti hoon, aur ye baat roz kahungi.
Tum meri favourite notification ho.
Tumhare saath chai bhi special lagti hai.
Kitna pyaar hai tumse, ye bataane ke liye words kam pad jaate hain.
Jaan, tum ho na, toh sab sambhal lenge.
Aaj kuch khaas nahi hua, bas tumhari yaad aayi aur din achha ho gaya.
Good morning, jaan. Aaj bhi tumse utna hi pyaar hai jitna kal tha. Thoda zyada, actually.
Good night. Phone rakh do. Aur haan, I love you.
Hum dono thode pagal hain, par saath mein perfect hain.
Tumse ladna bhi achha lagta hai, kyunki manana bhi tumhi ko hota hai.
Ishq, mohabbat, pyaar, love. Jo bhi naam do, matlab tum hi ho.
Mere liye "hum" ka matlab tum ho.
Kabhi kabhi lagta hai, tum na hote toh main itna hasta hi nahi.
Sach kahun? Tumse milne ke baad pata chala ki pyaar mein itna sukoon hota hai.
Funny & quotable wishes
Short enough to screenshot. These are the ones that end up on a story.

How do you say I love you in Hindi?
The simplest way is "मुझे तुमसे प्यार है" (mujhe tumse pyaar hai). Literally it's "to me, there is love for you", and it works whoever is saying it. The other common form is "मैं तुमसे प्यार करता हूँ" (main tumse pyaar karta hoon), and that one changes with the speaker: a man says करता हूँ (karta hoon), a woman says करती हूँ (karti hoon).
That's because a Hindi verb in the first person agrees with the gender of the person speaking. English doesn't do this, so it catches out people who learn the phrase from a film. The "मुझे … है" form has no first-person verb to agree, which is why most of the lines on this page use it or something like it. They can be sent by anyone. The handful that can't are tagged "From him" or "From her".
The same thing happens the other way round with adjectives about the person you're writing to. "तुम कितनी प्यारी हो" is said to a woman, "तुम कितने प्यारे हो" to a man. The lines here that depend on it are tagged "For her" or "For him".
प्यार, प्रेम, मोहब्बत or इश्क़: which word?
Hindi has several words for love, and they don't feel the same. Pick by the mood of the message, not by which sounds grandest.
- प्यार (pyaar): the everyday word, and the safe choice for almost any message. It's what people actually say to each other.
- प्रेम (prem): the Sanskrit word. It sounds formal or devotional in a text, and it's the word of old love letters and bhajans. Lovely in a card, a little stiff in a WhatsApp chat.
- मोहब्बत (mohabbat): from Urdu, and the word of film songs and ghazals. Romantic with a touch of drama.
- इश्क़ (ishq): also from Urdu, and the most intense of the four: passion, longing, the love that keeps you up at night. It's the word shayari reaches for. Use it when you mean it, or when you're being playful about how much you mean it.
The dot under क़ in इश्क़ marks the Urdu sound. Plenty of people type इश्क without it, and nobody will mind in a text.
Should you call your partner तुम or आप?
Most couples use तुम, and so do almost all the lines here. Some married couples and some families use आप between partners, as a sign of affection and respect, and a message written with तुम can feel oddly casual to them. तू is the most intimate of all, and between partners it can sound either very close or rude, depending entirely on the two of you. The birthday wishes in Hindi page explains the three in more detail.
Devanagari or Roman script?
Use the script your partner texts in. Plenty of couples who speak Hindi together type in Roman letters, because that's how their phone keyboard is set up, and a sudden message in Devanagari can feel formal or like a forward. Others save Devanagari for exactly that reason: it marks a message as special. The Hinglish lines here are written the way people type, with English words like "notification" and "perfect" left in where they'd naturally fall.
How do you make a Hindi love message not sound like a forward?
Skip the flowers and the long rhyming paragraphs, which are what everyone's aunt forwards. A short line with one real detail beats a long one full of चाँद and सितारे. If you want verse, the two-line pieces here are new, and the love shayari page next door has more. Then change something small so it's yours: add their name, or swap a word for the one you both use.
Good morning and good night in Hindi
सुप्रभात (suprabhat) and शुभ रात्रि (shubh ratri) are correct, but they sound like a greeting card or a news broadcast. Most couples who text in Hindi still say "good morning" and "good night" in English, often written in Devanagari as गुड मॉर्निंग and गुड नाइट. Put the Hindi in the line that follows, which is where the feeling goes.

How do you say I love you in Hindi?
"मुझे तुमसे प्यार है" (mujhe tumse pyaar hai) works for anyone. "मैं तुमसे प्यार करता हूँ" (main tumse pyaar karta hoon) is what a man says, and "मैं तुमसे प्यार करती हूँ" (karti hoon) is what a woman says.
How does a girl say I love you in Hindi?
"मैं तुमसे प्यार करती हूँ" (main tumse pyaar karti hoon). करती is the feminine form of the verb. Or use "मुझे तुमसे प्यार है", which is the same for everyone.
What is the difference between pyaar and ishq?
प्यार (pyaar) is the everyday word for love. इश्क़ (ishq) comes from Urdu and is more intense: passion and longing, the word of shayari and film songs. You can say pyaar about anything. Ishq sounds like a declaration.
What does jaan mean in a message?
Jaan (जान) literally means life, and between partners it means something like "my love" or "darling". It works for a man or a woman, which is part of why it's so common.
How do I say I miss you in Hindi?
"तुम्हारी याद आती है" (tumhari yaad aati hai) is the natural way, and "बहुत याद आ रही है" if you miss them right now. The explainer on "I miss you" covers the Hinglish versions too.
What is a romantic good night message in Hindi?
"सो जाओ अब। चाँद से कह दिया है, तुम्हारा ख़याल रखे।" (Go to sleep now. I've asked the moon to look after you.) It's gentle, and it ends the chat without ending it coldly.
Can I send these on WhatsApp or Instagram?
Yes. Tap Copy and paste anywhere. WhatsApp and Instagram both show Devanagari correctly, and the two-line pieces keep their line break. The Image button turns any message into a picture for a story.
