What is fancy text?
Fancy text is a name or a phrase framed with decorative symbols, like ꧁༺ Aanya ༻꧂, ★彡 Aanya 彡★ or ♛ Aanya ♛. It started with gaming names in Free Fire, BGMI and PUBG, spread to Discord and Instagram, and is now the standard way to make a name look deliberate rather than plain. Some people call it crazy text or stylish text. The symbols are ordinary Unicode characters, so they paste into any app that accepts text.

How do I make a fancy name for Free Fire or BGMI?
Type your name, pick a frame, copy it and paste it into the game's rename box. Three things decide whether it's accepted:
- Length. Game nicknames have short limits, and every symbol counts. The ꧁༺ ༻꧂ frame alone uses six characters, including its spaces. For a long name, pick a light frame like ♛ ♛ or 〖 〗, or drop the spaces inside the frame.
- Blocked characters. Some games reject specific symbols. If a name won't save, change the frame rather than the name. The problem is usually one character, not all of them.

Why do fancy symbols show as boxes?
The device showing them has no font for those characters. The frames borrow symbols from Tibetan, Javanese, Chinese and Japanese, and Android phones cover these well, while older iPhones and some Windows PCs don't always. A box, sometimes called tofu, means the reader's device is missing the font. Your text isn't broken, and the same name looks right on a phone that has the font. If most of your audience uses one platform, check the name there before committing to it.

Can I use fancy text on Instagram and Discord?
Yes, in display names, bios, captions and messages. On Instagram the display name is the bold name above your bio, and it accepts fancy text. Your @username doesn't, because it only allows letters, numbers, full stops and underscores. On Discord, put fancy text in your display name or server nickname, since usernames only allow plain lowercase letters. A fancy name is harder for other people to search for or @mention, because they'd need to type the same symbols. Keep a plain version of your name somewhere friends can find it, like your bio or the start of the name.
